News: Police search for driver involved in deadly hit-and-run in Miami
MIAMI, FL – Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver responsible for the death of a pedestrian in Miami Sunday morning, according to the Miami Herald.
Miami Fire Rescue responded to the scene in the area of Northwest 36th Avenue and 21st Court in the Allapattah neighborhood. The pedestrian, identified as Maynor Moncada, was struck by a vehicle at about 3:15 a.m. He was rushed to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The car that struck Moncada was believed to have been a red four-door 2016-2018 Toyota Corolla that now has front-end damage. Police said the driver left the scene after the crash, going west on Northwest 36th Street and then north on Northwest 22nd Avenue.
Anyone with information about the incident was asked to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers or the Miami Police Department.
