News: Pickup truck driver arrested on DUI charge after crashing into family’s Delray Beach home
DELRAY BEACH, FL – A driver was arrested after police say he drove his pickup truck into a home in Delray Beach on Sunday night.
According to WPEC, 23-year-old Nelson Merida was sitting in his vehicle when a security guard for the Lucaya neighborhood asked him to leave.
Merida took off and crashed into a house on Catherine Drive before reportedly running from the scene. According to police, he returned later and tried to drive away in the pickup but before he could get away, officers arrived and took him into custody.
No one among the family of four living in the home was injured, but the house sustained a significant amount of damage.
Merida was charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license.
