News: Pedestrian struck, killed by Brightline train in Delray Beach
DELRAY BEACH, FL – Police in Delray Beach were at the scene of a fatal railroad accident on Tuesday morning.
WPTV reports a man was struck by a Brightline train at about 9 a.m. He had been trying to cross the railroad tracks from west to east in the area of Southeast Eighth Street and Southeast First Avenue at the time he was hit, according to investigators.
The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police spokesman said the incident took place in an area that clearly had no trespassing markings.
