News: Passenger dies after sports car slams into trees in Fort Lauderdale
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Police and emergency crews were at the scene of a fatal car accident in Fort Lauderdale over the weekend.
The incident happened in the area of Northeast Second Avenue and Northeast 13th Street, according to WSVN.
The driver of a McLaren sports car crashed into several trees at about 1 a.m. Saturday, and the vehicle burst into flames. The driver and a passenger were rushed to Broward Health Medical Center. The passenger died, while the driver was still being treated for his injuries.
Investigators looking into the wreck believe that the driver was speeding at the time of the crash.
