News: Motorcycle passenger dies after crash with car in Lake Worth Beach
LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL – A collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Palm Beach County left a woman dead, according to WPTV.
Authorities responded to the accident scene Saturday night near the intersection of Dixie Highway and 5th Avenue North in Lake Worth Beach shortly before 9:30 p.m.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said 53-year-old James Kelly was driving a Harley-Davidson north on Dixie Highway at the same time a Chevrolet Malibu driven by 53-year-old Shirlene Rolle was going south.
According to investigators, Rolle made a left onto 5th Avenue North but did not see the motorcycle approaching and Kelly could not avoid hitting the car.
Kelly and his passenger, 59-year-old Karen Rivers, were both thrown from the motorcycle. Rivers was pronounced dead at the scene, while Kelly was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center with serious injuries.
