News: Man riding on golf cart killed in accident in Miami Beach
MIAMI BEACH, FL – Authorities are investigating after a man riding on a golf cart was killed in an accident in Miami Beach early Saturday, according to WSVN.
The incident took place in the North Bay section, in the vicinity of 29th Street and North Bay Road.
Police and rescuers were called to the scene at about 1:15 a.m. Investigators said 40-year-old Jorgen Slots was a passenger in a golf cart with two friends when he fell off the cart and onto the ground.
Slots was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital with a head injury, and was later pronounced dead.
Miami Beach Police are checking surveillance video and interviewing those who were on the cart as part of their investigation into the incident. Slots’s girlfriend Morgan Geller was quoted in the report as saying the driver left the scene of the accident.
