News: Man injured in workplace accident at Fort Lauderdale tile business
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue was on the scene of a workplace accident Wednesday afternoon that left a man hospitalized.
In a Facebook post, the rescue team said it responded to reports of a man trapped in a machine. WSVN reports the incident took place at a tile business in the area of Southwest 21st Terrace and Southwest 10th Court. A worker there got his fingers stuck inside the gears of a machine that fabricates large pavers while he was trying to clean it.
The technical rescue team spent over an hour dismantling the machine to free the man’s hand and save his fingers. He was transported to an area hospital.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue thanked Broward Health Coalition for donating the tools that made the rescue possible.
