News: Man facing DUI manslaughter charge in fatal Davie crash
DAVIE, FL – Police arrested a man alleged to have been driving drunk during a fatal crash in Davie in January. NBC Miami reports the suspect is 27-year-old Pedro Moss of Miramar.
An arrest affidavit indicated that Moss was driving a white BMW on January 18 in the area of State Road 7 and Griffin Road when he struck a pedestrian. The victim, Joseph Andrew Nichols, died at the scene.
Moss was driving at speeds of up to 117 miles an hour just before the accident, according to data retrieved from the car. Investigators said his blood alcohol level at the time was three times the state’s legal limit.
Among the charges facing Moss are vehicular homicide and DUI manslaughter. He was taken to the Broward County Jail and appeared in court earlier this week.
