News: Man dead after being hit by car on Florida’s Turnpike near Boca Raton
BOCA RATON, FL – State troopers said a pedestrian died in an accident on Florida’s Turnpike near Boca Raton on Tuesday, WPEC reports.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the victim had gotten out of his car after a crash on the turnpike near the exit for Glades Road. He was struck by a passing car and suffered fatal injuries. The man was a 29-year-old Lauderdale Lakes man whose name has not yet been released.
A 22-year-old Pompano Beach woman who was driving the car and a 21-year-old man riding with her sustained minor injuries.
The turnpike was shut down in the area for several hours while troopers investigated.
