News: Head-on crash shuts down Seven Mile Bridge in Florida Keys
MONROE COUNTY, FL – A head-on collision shut down the Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys Monday afternoon, the Miami Herald reports.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said two vehicles crashed about halfway across the bridge at mile marker 43.5, at about 2 p.m. Keysnews reports that one of the vehicles was a private ambulance transporting a patient. Injuries were reported in the crash, with some of the victims flown to a hospital in Miami. No details were available on the conditions of those injured.
Seven Mile Bridge, a span between Marathon and Little Duck Key, was closed in both directions before reopening at about 3:45 p.m.
