News: Driver sought in hit-and-run that killed pedestrian in Deerfield Beach
DEERFIELD BEACH, FL – The Broward Sheriff’s Office says a driver left the scene after hitting and killing a pedestrian in Deerfield Beach Wednesday night.
The incident happened in a parking lot at 1674 W. Hillsboro Boulevard shortly before 9:30 p.m. Investigators said a woman was walking northbound in the parking lot. When she turned to walk back to the sidewalk, she was struck by a 2018-2022 white Chevrolet Equinox.
The woman was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Broward Sheriff’s Office said the driver of the Equinox fled the parking lot heading north in the southbound lanes of Goolsby Boulevard.
Anyone with information on the incident was asked to contact the Broward Sheriff’s Office or Broward Crime Stoppers.
