News: Driver sought in hit-and-run death of elderly man in SW Miami-Dade
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – Police are trying to track down the driver who struck and killed an elderly man in Southwest Miami-Dade on May 14, the Miami Herald reports.
The victim, 86-year-old Angel Martinez, was walking across the street in the 4000 block of Southwest 97th Avenue near 40th Street at about 11:52 p.m. when he was hit by a white truck.
Police say the driver fled westbound on Southwest 97th Avenue following the crash without rendering aid or providing information. No description has been released of the vehicle being sought.
Anyone with information about the case was asked to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers, and a reward of up to $5,000 was being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
