FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Authorities are searching for the driver who left the scene after hitting and killing a pedestrian in Fort Lauderdale last week.
NBC Miami reports the victim was identified as 55-year-old Glen Flaherty, a Minneapolis realtor who was in the area on a business trip.
According to police, Flaherty was walking across the street in the 1500 block of NE 4th Avenue early Thursday when he was struck by a dark-colored cargo-style van at about 12:30 a.m. The driver kept on going and was last seen headed east on NE 16th Street.
Flaherty was pronounced dead at Broward Health Medical Center.
Family members called on the public to come forward with anything they know that would help authorities locate the driver. Anyone with information regarding the crash was asked to contact Broward Crime Stoppers.
