News: Driver leaves scene after SW Miami-Dade crash that killed bicyclist
MIAMI-DADE, FL – State troopers say a bicyclist was struck and killed in southwest Miami-Dade County by a driver that left the scene.
WPLG reports the incident happened Tuesday morning in the vicinity of Southwest 200th Street and Southwest 172nd Avenue. The bicycle rider was going east on 200th Street and was hit by a Maserati that was heading in the same direction. The cyclist, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver fled the area following the crash but was later located about a half mile away.
