OAKLAND PARK, FL – A search is underway for a driver who left the scene after crashing into a restaurant in Broward County.
WSVN reports the incident occurred early Wednesday morning at The Mason Jar on Oakland Park Boulevard near U.S. 1 in Oakland Park.
According to the report, the driver was behind the wheel of a dark-colored Audi that plowed into the patio of the restaurant. The accident brought down an overhang and crushed some tables and chairs.
The building’s owner said the car was seen on surveillance cameras going through the drive-thru. He expressed confidence that the restaurant would be able to re-open.
