News: Driver killed when pickup truck goes off ramp, onto I-95 near Fort Lauderdale
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – An accident involving a pickup truck near Fort Lauderdale left a driver dead, NBC Miami reports.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a Chevy Silverado was headed west on State Road 84 Tuesday morning when he was unable to negotiate a right curve. The pickup hit a concrete barrier, went over a wall, and landed in a construction zone on I-95.
The Silverado struck a concrete post, causing it to topple and hit a Dodge Ram that was in the construction area. The driver of the Silverado was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a 31-year-old Davie man whose name has not been released.
A 39-year-old Boynton Beach man who was the driver of the Ram was not injured.
The FHP is continuing its investigation into the cause of the accident.
