News: Driver in custody after pickup truck collides with Florida Highway Patrol vehicle
PEMBROKE PINES, FL – Authorities said they arrested a man who was involved in a crash with a Florida Highway Patrol trooper in Pembroke Pines on Wednesday afternoon.
According to WSVN, the FHP was pursuing a stolen pickup truck on Johnson Street at about 4:30 p.m. but when officers attempted to stop the driver, he took off.
The driver, identified as Yurianne Hervis-Gonzalez, lost control of the pickup, spun out, and collided head-on with the FHP vehicle. No injuries were immediately reported.
Hervis-Gonzalez now faces several charges, including grand theft, reckless driving, and fleeing and eluding.
