News: Driver hits 2 pedestrians walking in North Lauderdale, killing 1
NORTH LAUDERDALE, FL – Authorities say a driver struck two pedestrians, one fatally, in North Lauderdale Sunday morning.
According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened in the 5100 block of North State Road 7 shortly after 2:30 a.m.
The two pedestrians, a male and female, were walking east across North State Road 7 when they were hit by a northbound 2007 BMW. The male was pronounced dead at the scene, while the female underwent surgery for her injuries at a nearby hospital. Deputies say the two were not in a designated crosswalk at the time of the crash.
The BMW driver kept going northbound but later contacted the sheriff’s office to report the incident. Detectives seized the vehicle as part of the investigation.
