News: Driver dead after vehicle crashes into palm tree in Pompano Beach
POMPANO BEACH, FL – A car crash that killed a driver in Pompano Beach is under investigation by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
In a news release, the sheriff’s office said the incident at the 3100 block of Southwest 15th Street was reported at about 11:21 a.m. Sunday morning.
Investigators determined that the driver of a Hyundai Sonata was going east on Southwest 15th Street near Southwest 31st Avenue when the vehicle drifted off the road and went over a concrete curb. The Hyundai then went onto a center median and crashed into a palm tree before coming to rest in the roadway.
The sheriff’s office said the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown into the passenger seat. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s identity was not released.
