News: Driver charged with DUI manslaughter in West Palm Beach crash
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Charges have been filed in connection with a fatal car crash in Palm Beach County on April 19, WPEC reports.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says 39-year-old Ronald Ray Cook of West Palm Beach has been arrested in the accident in which a passenger in his car was killed.
According to investigators, Cook was speeding while driving a Nissan Maxima in the area of Congress Avenue and Gun Club Road shortly after 5:30 p.m. He lost control of the car while going around a curve, causing the vehicle to skid onto a median and then crash into a tree.
The passenger, 37-year-old Jessie Bernard Fleming of West Palm Beach, died at the scene while Cook sustained minor injuries.
He is now facing several criminal charges, including DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide.
