News: Crash on State Road 836 in NW Miami-Dade leaves 3 dead, 2 injured
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a car wreck in Northwest Miami-Dade Saturday night left three people dead.
According to WSVN, the accident happened on State Road 836 near Northwest 107th Avenue at about 11:20 p.m.
The FHP said a westbound Lexus sedan with five people inside collided with an SUV, causing the driver of the Lexus to lose control. The Lexus crashed through a guardrail and struck a tree in the median.
Two women were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third woman died later at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital. Two men were critically injured and taken to the same hospital.
An investigation continues into the cause of the accident, which shut down the Dolphin Expressway for about six hours.
