News: Collision in Palm Beach County leaves 1 dead, 2 injured
LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL – Authorities said one person was killed and two others injured Saturday in a high-speed car wreck in Palm Beach County.
According to WPTV, the accident happened on Lantana Road near Lake Worth Beach at 6:39 p.m.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said 20-year-old Guy Ludgy Barbancourt was driving a Tesla Model S westbound at a high rate of speed when he swerved across two lanes and went off the road. The vehicle overturned and ended up in a parking lot. Barbancourt, a Lake Worth Beach resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of a westbound Ford van had slowed down to avoid the Tesla, and a westbound BMW M4 collided with the back of the Ford, causing the BMW to overturn.
A passenger in the van, a 32-year-old man, was seriously injured while another passenger in the van sustained minor injuries.
