News: Cart crashes at Miami International Airport after luggage falls on accelerator
MIAMI, FL – Three people were injured when a cart went out of control and crashed at Miami International Airport Friday afternoon, the Miami Herald reports.
According to a spokesperson for American Airlines, a piece of luggage fell onto the accelerator of an Envoy wheelchair cart in Concourse D at about 1:30 p.m.
The driver lost control of the cart, which went through the terminal before slamming into a column.
A couple who were on the cart, Kerrina Powell and Shannon Powell, were injured and transported to a hospital. They told WPLG they are looking into hiring an attorney for the possibility of litigation.
An Envoy worker was also injured and was treated at the scene.
