News: Authorities identify 2 victims of crash involving fleeing driver in Miami-Dade County
MIAMI-DADE, FL – Authorities have disclosed the identities of two people killed in a collision in Miami-Dade County last Thursday, WPLG reports.
This is an update to a previous story.
Miami-Dade police say an officer tried to pull over a man driving a Lexus SUV on U.S. 1 near Southwest 172nd Street in Palmetto Bay, but the driver fled and took off heading north as police lost sight of him.
The Lexus then crashed into a Chevy Trailblazer that was making a turn from U.S. 1 onto Southwest 152nd Street.
Police detectives have now identified the driver of the Lexus as 23-year-old Tyrese Grace. The driver of the Trailblazer was identified as 45-year-old Amy Whitelock.
Three other men in the Lexus were injured and hospitalized.
