News: Alligator Alley car crash leaves young woman dead, 2 others hurt
BROWARD COUNTY, FL – A car crash in Broward County early Monday left one person dead and two others injured.
The accident happened on Interstate 75 along Alligator Alley near mile marker 42, reports NBC Miami.
The Florida Highway Patrol said a Honda Civic collided with a Hyundai Sonata in the northbound lanes at about 2 a.m. A passenger in one of the cars, an 18-year-old female from Naples, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 16-year-old driver of that car was taken to Broward Health Medical Center with serious injuries.
A 26-year-old woman who was driving the other car was sent to the same hospital with minor injuries.
All lanes were shut down in the area for about five hours following the wreck, which remains under investigation.
