News: 5-year-old boy fatally struck by vehicle in Fort Lauderdale parking lot
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A young boy was fatally struck by a vehicle in a parking lot in Fort Lauderdale Saturday night, WPLG reports.
The incident happened at a gas station on West Broward Boulevard, where the 5-year-old victim was hit by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. Police said the driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old Habynoel Castro-Lobo, had driven around a parked car and then struck the boy.
Castro-Lobo was arrested following the incident. According to the arrest report, he was driving without a license and is in the United States illegally. The report said he is on federal probation for being deported on three occasions.
