News: 4 injured when pursuit of stolen car ends in crash on Florida’s Turnpike
HOLLYWOOD, FL – A stolen car being pursued by law enforcement authorities crashed in Hollywood Saturday morning, leaving four people injured.
According to WSVN, the chase began when state troopers were notified about a stolen Maserati headed south on Interstate 95 near Davie Boulevard at about 9:40 a.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver refused to stop and kept going into Miami-Dade County, where the vehicle eventually crashed along Florida’s Turnpike.
A Miami-Dade Police officer and three people who were in the Maserati were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where their injuries were not believed to be serious.
The driver of the Maserati and a passenger were taken into custody, and now face charges that include grand theft and fleeing and eluding.
