News: 3 injured in West Boca head-on crash involving suspected DUI driver
WEST BOCA, FL – Three people were injured in a car accident involving a suspected drunk driver in West Boca, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Authorities responded to the scene Saturday in the area of Military Trail and Boca Delray Boulevard at about 4 p.m. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Efrain Garcia Poveda lost control of his car and crossed the center median, resulting in a head-on crash with a vehicle driven by Aaron Latham of Boca Raton.
Garcia-Poveda, a Plantation resident, was hospitalized in critical condition. Latham and his passenger sustained minor injuries.
The sheriff’s office said Garcia-Poveda was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol at the time of the collision.
