News: 2 victims identified in collision between truck and motorcycle in Fort Lauderdale
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Authorities identified two victims of a fatal collision that occurred in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday morning, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
The two people killed were 22-year-old Carone L. Richardson Jr. of Fort Lauderdale and 60-year-old Germaine Jean Baptiste.
The crash involving a truck and a motorcycle occurred at 1700 NW Ninth Avenue near Northwest 17th Street at about 6:30 a.m. The two victims were pronounced dead after being taken to Broward Health Medical Center.
There was no confirmation on which victim was driving which vehicle, but Richardson’s mother said that he was the one driving the motorcycle.
Carone Richardson Jr. was attending Webber International University in Central Florida, where he majored in sports business management and played basketball. He also was a football player at Fort Lauderdale High School.
