News: 2 drivers killed in wrong-way accident on Okeechobee Road
HIALEAH GARDENS, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said two drivers died in a wrong-way collision late Monday night.
According to NBC Miami, the wreck occurred on Okeechobee Road near the Florida Turnpike in northwest Miami-Dade County.
The FHP said a woman was driving a Hyundai sedan south in the roadway’s northbound lanes at about 11 p.m. and crashed into an Infiniti sedan head-on.
The Hyundai driver and the man who was driving the Infiniti were both pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not yet been released.
Okeechobee Road was shut down for about five hours while the scene was being cleared and investigated.
