News: 2 dead in crash of recreational vehicle on Florida Turnpike
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – State troopers and emergency crews were on the scene of a fiery crash in South Miami-Dade Tuesday afternoon that left two people dead.
According to WSVN, a recreational vehicle crashed and caught fire on the Florida Turnpike near Southwest 123rd Avenue at about 4 p.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said the RV was towing a Jeep in the southbound lanes when the driver lost control. The vehicle went off the road, hit a concrete barrier wall and burst into flames.
A man was thrown from the RV and was pronounced dead on the scene. A woman who was pulled from the vehicle died later at a hospital. Their identities were not released.
All southbound lanes of the Turnpike were closed for several hours while the scene was being cleared and firefighters extinguished the blaze.
