News: 1 dead after car crashes, catches fire on I-75 in Davie
DAVIE, FL – State troopers said a single-vehicle accident in Davie Saturday morning left a driver dead.
According to WPLG, the driver was headed south on Interstate 75 near the Griffin Road overpass when the crash happened at about 8 a.m.
Witnesses told the Florida Highway Patrol that the driver veered off the highway. The vehicle entered the median, struck a concrete column and caught fire.
The motorist, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene by Davie Fire Rescue crews.
The southbound lanes of I-75 were shut down near the scene for the crash investigation.
