Newlyweds Involved in Wave Runner Crash in the Florida Keys – Husband Killed
A 27-year-old man was killed, and his wife seriously injured, in a Wave Runner crash in the Florida Keys on Thursday.
The Miami Herald reports that Aakash Putta of Chicago was driving the jet ski, and 25-year-old Sindhura Chilakapati, also of Chicago, was the passenger in the vehicle. They were both ejected when the Wave Runner struck a power pole off Key Haven.
The collision killed Putta and left Chilakapati injured. Chilakapati was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) said that Chilakapati is in stable condition.
The FWC also said that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
