MSN: These Are The Ships with the Worst Sanitation Scores in the History of the CDC Cruise Ship Sanitation Program
MSN.com recently published a report on the “ 10 nastiest cruise ships that have sailed in the US.” The report refers to a U.S. Centers for Disease Control program which evaluates cruise ships for sanitation and then ranks them on a scale from 0 to 100. 86 is the minimum passing grade.
Without further ado, let’s look at the three lowest scoring ships on MSN.com’s list:
3. Stad Amsterdam (2007) scored 56 after authorities found violations such as improper food storage and dirty food preparation equipment.
2. Nippon Maru (1995) scored 48 after authorities found a lack of sneeze guards if foodservice areas and improper food storage.
1. Nippon Maru (1998) failed again in 1998, this time after authorities cited dirty kitchen equipment and improper food storage.
